Suzanne was formerly a teacher and is active in community affairs. An advocate for abused and neglected children, she worked in the parent-baby program, a division of the Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester, NH, and served on the advisory board. Suzanne volunteered as a family sponsor for Child and Family Services of NH, mentoring parents in crisis. Suzzanne and her husband, Stuart, have established a program through Pathfinder International for young women in Ethiopia struggling with reproduction health issues. In 1980, she and Stuart adopted a daughter from Korea. Their oldest daughter has a son from Korea and twin girls and a son from Ethiopia, in addition to a biological son. She and Stuart are also involved with The MGH Research Scholars Program and the MGH Center for Community Health Improvement. They are also connected with a young surgeon at Mass. Eye & Ear who spends four months a year doing facial & eye surgery on adults & children in Africa. Suzanne is a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Milford, NH, and has been involved in its SHARE program for several years. She is also a member of The Val-Kill Project to preserve the home of Eleanor Roosevelt and is a strong supporter of The Childrens’ Foundation in Key Largo, FL.
