Louis Herlands, PhD, Chairman and CEO, of Luminous Mind Inc., a psychedelic, CNS, and psychiatric medicine company, is skilled at unlocking the commercial potential of technologies and product candidates. The aggregate value of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies Dr. Herlands has co-founded, financed, and/or led is over $17 billion. He has led programs in diverse therapeutic areas including neuropathic pain, obesity, diabetes, and cancer. Additionally, he was elected to various distinguished groups such as the Rockefeller University Council, and the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) Council. He also leads various philanthropic activities to leverage committed capital through “venture philanthropy”. In 2014, he teamed up with The Mayday Fund to endow a Professorship in pain neuroscience and brain imaging at Boston Children’s Hospital and he supports high-impact early-stage breakthrough research at Rockefeller University. He graduated from Yale University as Scholar of the House and earned his PhD from The Rockefeller University in the laboratory of Vincent Allfrey.
