Jim is a retired vice chairman of Corning Incorporated. In 1996, he relocated to Japan as plant manager at Corning’s Shizuoka manufacturing facility. From September 2005 through July 2010, Jim was president of Corning Display Technologies, with responsibility for all business and manufacturing operations across the division’s five regions: Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China, and the United States. In 2010, Jim was named president, Corning Glass Technologies group to include responsibility for Corning’s display and cover glass businesses. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He was recognized in 2013 with a Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Rhode Island’s College of Engineering and again in 2021 with the President’s Distinguished Achievement Award. Jim and his wife Doreen have three daughters.
